How Much Does TRT Cost in the Philippines?
What testosterone therapy really costs in the Philippines: consults, labs, medication by form and the yearly total. Sourced and dated.
The short version: in the Philippines, the testosterone itself is often the cheapest line on the bill. The consults, the starting blood panel and the follow-up labs are where most of your money goes. If you understand each line, you can bring the total down a lot without cutting corners on safety.
All prices below come from our dated price file and render in pesos (or US dollars if you switch the toggle). Clinic and lab prices change, so treat these as a starting point and confirm with the provider before you go.
Line 1: The consult
You will see a doctor at least twice in the first few months: once to assess you and order labs, and once to review results and decide on treatment. After that, most men see their doctor a few times a year.
| Item | Provider | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Specialist consult (endocrinologist or urologist) | Metro Manila clinics | ₱1,500 to ₱4,500 |
| TRT consult | DIMA Health | ₱2,000 |
- Hospital or clinic specialist: an endocrinologist or urologist in Metro Manila typically charges ₱1,500 to ₱4,500 per visit. Big private hospitals in Makati and BGC sit at the higher end.
- Telehealth: DIMA Health, a licensed online pharmacy, lists a TRT consult at ₱2,000.
HMO tip. If you have a company HMO card, a specialist consult at an accredited hospital may cost you nothing at the door. Ask the HMO hotline whether the endocrinologist you want is accredited and whether a referral from a primary care doctor is required first.
Line 2: The initial blood panel
This is the biggest one-time cost, and the line with the most room to save. A guideline-based workup needs two separate early-morning total testosterone tests, plus tests to find the cause and check that it is safe to start.
| Item | Member | Non-member |
|---|---|---|
| Total testosterone | ₱1,800 | ₱2,340 |
| Free testosterone | ₱9,700 | ₱12,600 |
| Estradiol | ₱2,070 | ₱2,700 |
| PSA | ₱1,570 | ₱1,990 |
| LH | ₱1,350 | ₱1,760 |
| FSH | ₱1,380 | ₱1,800 |
| Prolactin | ₱1,350 | ₱1,760 |
| Lipid profile | ₱1,260 | ₱1,575 |
| CBC (complete blood count) | ₱399 | ₱495 |
These are Medicard rate card figures from July 2026, shown at the walk-in (non-member) rate. Medicard members pay less; for example, total testosterone is ₱1,800 for members versus ₱2,340 walk-in.
Total testosterone is also available at other labs:
| Item | Provider | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Total testosterone | Hi-Precision (booked via Hati Health) | ₱1,600 |
| Total testosterone | Ashrey Makati | from ₱1,200 |
| Total testosterone | Medicard (non-member) | ₱2,340 |
So the same test runs ₱1,600 at Hi-Precision when booked through Hati Health, and Ashrey in Makati quotes from ₱1,200. Healthway branches also run the test; call your nearest branch for its current rate. The full comparison is on our testosterone test price page.
What a typical starting panel includes
Your doctor decides the exact list, but a common starting panel looks like this:
- Total testosterone, twice: ₱2,340 each at Medicard walk-in
- LH: ₱1,760 and FSH: ₱1,800
- Prolactin, if LH is low or normal: ₱1,760
- Estradiol: ₱2,700
- PSA, for men over 40 or at risk: ₱1,990
- CBC for hematocrit: ₱495
- Lipid profile: ₱1,575
The calculated free testosterone trick
The single most expensive test on the list is direct free testosterone, at ₱12,600 walk-in. Not everyone needs free testosterone, but when total testosterone is borderline or SHBG may be unusual (common in men with diabetes, obesity, liver issues or older age), doctors want it.
There is a cheaper route. Test total testosterone plus SHBG, then plug both numbers (and albumin, if you have it) into the Vermeulen formula. The Endocrine Society guideline accepts free testosterone calculated this way as an alternative to the direct test. Our calculator does the maths for you.

Call Hi-Precision or Healthway for a quote, and ask your doctor whether a calculated value is acceptable for your case before skipping the direct test.
Line 3: The medication, by form
This is where Philippine costs surprise people, because generic testosterone enanthate is very cheap here.
| Item | Provider | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Testosterone enanthate (generic), per ampuleper ampule | DIMA Health | about ₱167 |
| Testosterone enanthate (generic), pack of 3 ampulesper 3 ampules | DIMA Health | ₱500 |
| Testosterone undecanoate (Nebido), per injectionper injection | Pharmacy retail | ₱12,543 |
| Testosterone undecanoate (Nebido), monthly equivalentper month | Derived | about ₱4,000 to ₱5,000 |
| Testosterone gel 1.62%, 88 gper 88 g pump | Pharmacy retail | ₱2,459 to ₱2,589 |
What each line means, in plain terms (generic name first, brand in parentheses, and no brand recommendation intended):
- Testosterone enanthate (generic). Per ampule, DIMA lists about ₱167, and a pack of three is ₱500. It is a shorter-acting injection, so it is given more often, and each visit for an injection can add a clinic fee.
- Testosterone undecanoate (Nebido). Per injection, retail pharmacies list ₱12,543. It is long-acting and given at clinic visits months apart, so the monthly equivalent comes to about ₱4,000 to ₱5,000.
- Testosterone gel (AndroGel and similar). Per 88 g pump, the range is ₱2,459 to ₱2,589. How long a pump lasts depends on your prescription.
- Cypionate and Sustanon. Registration not yet confirmed on the FDA Philippines verification portal, so we do not list a price.
How these forms differ in how they feel and how often they are given is covered in types of testosterone available in the Philippines.
Patient-reported prices outside Metro Manila
Some prices come from patient reports rather than published rate cards. These are patient-reported, unverified and may be out of date:
| Item | Provider | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Consult | Sacred Heart Medical Center, Angeles | ₱1,500 |
| Testosterone enanthate, per ampuleper ampule | Sacred Heart Medical Center, Angeles | ₱550 |
| Testosterone vial (about 10 clinic doses)per vial | Pulse Clinic | ₱5,320 |
For example, one patient reported a consult at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Angeles at ₱1,500, and per ampule, the same patient reported enanthate at ₱550. More on Clark and Angeles is on TRT in Angeles City and Clark.
Line 4: Follow-up labs
After starting, doctors check your levels and safety markers a few months in, then less often once you are stable. The usual follow-up panel is smaller than the starting one:
- Total testosterone: ₱2,340
- CBC for hematocrit: ₱495
- PSA, for men over 40 or at risk: ₱1,990
- Estradiol, only if symptoms suggest it: ₱2,700
- Lipid profile, often yearly: ₱1,575
Skipping follow-up labs is the one saving we would never suggest. Hematocrit in particular can creep up without any symptoms, and catching it early is the whole point. We explain why in TRT side effects and risks.
Three ways TRT is usually paid for
Most men in the Philippines end up in one of three models. This table compares them by structure; the peso figures inside come from our price file.
| Clinic-visit model | Telehealth model | Long-acting undecanoate | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Typical medicine | Testosterone enanthate (generic) | Testosterone enanthate (generic) | Testosterone undecanoate (Nebido) |
| Medicine price | about ₱167 per ampule | about ₱167 per ampule | ₱12,543 per injection |
| Consult | Specialist, ₱1,500 to ₱4,500 | Online, ₱2,000 | Specialist, ₱1,500 to ₱4,500 |
| Labs | Hospital or partner lab | Booked separately at a partner lab | Hospital or partner lab |
| Clinic trips | Most frequent, for injections and reviews | Fewest, mostly lab visits | Few, injections months apart |
| HMO help | Often covers consult and some labs | Usually not covered | Often covers consult and some labs |
| Best fit | Men near a clinic with flexible hours | Men with long commutes or shift work | Men who prefer fewer injections and can afford the higher medicine cost |
| Main trade-off | Time and traffic | Less hands-on examination | Highest medicine cost |
For a BPO worker on rotating nights in Ortigas or Cebu IT Park, the time cost of the clinic-visit model can matter more than the peso cost. For someone with a generous HMO, a hospital specialist may be the cheapest route overall because the consults and some labs are covered.
Thinking about the yearly total
Instead of a single "TRT costs X a year" figure, which would be wrong for most readers, build your own from four parts:
- Consults: the number of visits a year times your doctor's fee (or zero if your HMO covers it).
- Starting panel: a one-time cost in year one.
- Follow-up labs: a few panels a year at first, then fewer.
- Medicine: the form you and your doctor choose, at its monthly equivalent.
Year one is always the most expensive because of the starting panel and the extra early visits. Year two onward is usually noticeably lower. Our calculator lets you pick a form, a provider type and a lab frequency, and it shows the monthly and yearly figure.

- Compare labs. The same total testosterone test varies widely between Medicard walk-in, Hi-Precision and Ashrey.
- Use your HMO card for consults and covered labs, and ask which hormone tests are included.
- Ask about calculated free testosterone instead of the direct test.
- Bundle labs into one morning draw so you are not paying for extra trips and extra fees.
- Ask your doctor whether generic enanthate suits you, since it is the lowest-cost registered medicine.
- Fix the basics. Sometimes better sleep and weight loss lift testosterone enough to change the plan. See how to increase testosterone.
What not to do: skip the doctor and source testosterone from a gym contact or a social media seller. It looks cheaper until a complication arrives. We explain the risks in TRT vs steroids. Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
How much does TRT cost per month in the Philippines?
It depends mostly on the form and how often you see the doctor. Generic enanthate is the cheapest medicine, while testosterone undecanoate and gel cost more per month. Consults and follow-up labs often cost more than the medicine itself. The tables on this page carry the current peso figures.
What is the cheapest way to do TRT in the Philippines?
Generic testosterone enanthate is the lowest-cost medicine registered here. Total costs also drop when you compare lab prices, use your HMO for covered consults and labs, and ask your doctor whether calculated free testosterone can replace the expensive direct test.
How much is Nebido in the Philippines?
Testosterone undecanoate (Nebido) is priced per injection at retail pharmacies. Because injections are given at clinic visits months apart, the monthly equivalent is lower than the sticker price suggests. See the treatment table above for current figures.
Does PhilHealth or my HMO cover TRT?
Outpatient TRT is generally paid out of pocket, so check with PhilHealth directly about any benefit that may apply to you. Many HMO plans cover specialist consults and some labs at accredited providers, but hormone tests and the medicine itself are often excluded. Check your plan's benefit list or call your HMO before booking.
Why is the free testosterone test so expensive?
Direct free testosterone is a specialised test. A cheaper approach many doctors accept is to test total testosterone and SHBG, then calculate free testosterone with the Vermeulen formula.
What does the first year of TRT cost?
The first year costs the most because it includes the full starting panel, two total testosterone tests, the first consults and an early follow-up panel. Use the TRT cost calculator to estimate it with your own choices.
