Here is what a testosterone test costs in the Philippines right now, lab by lab, along with the full hormone panel, home service and the ways to pay less. Every price on this page is pulled from our price database, with the source and the date we last checked it. We refresh these figures quarterly, and labs change their rates, so confirm with the branch before you go.

Last full check: October 2026. Medicard figures are from the July 2026 rate card.

Total testosterone: the price comparison

Total testosterone is the first test almost everyone needs. Here is what it costs at the labs we have verified:

Total testosterone test, price by lab
ItemProviderPrice
Total testosteroneHi-Precision (booked via Hati Health)₱1,600
Total testosteroneAshrey Makatifrom ₱1,200
Total testosteroneMedicard (non-member)₱2,340
Source: Hati Health listing; Ashrey Makati listing; Medicard rate cardLast verified 27 Oct 2026

A few notes on reading this table:

  • Ashrey Makati quotes a "from" price, so the final amount can depend on the branch or package. Ask for the total testosterone price on its own.
  • Hi-Precision is listed at its price through Hati Health, which also offers home service. Walk-in prices at a branch may differ slightly.
  • Medicard is shown at the non-member rate here. Medicard card members pay less: ₱1,800 instead of ₱2,340.
  • Healthway prices are pending. We are still confirming Healthway's current testosterone rates, so call your branch for now. We will add them at the next refresh.

For a single test, the cheapest verified option today is from ₱1,200 at Ashrey Makati, and the gap between the cheapest and the most expensive is meaningful. Remember that a diagnosis needs two separate morning tests, so you will likely pay for total testosterone twice. Using the same lab both times keeps the results comparable.

The full hormone panel: member vs non-member

If your first total testosterone comes back low or borderline, a doctor will usually order more tests. Here is the Medicard rate card for the full panel, with member and non-member prices side by side:

Hormone panel prices, Medicard member and non-member rates
ItemMemberNon-member
Total testosterone₱1,800₱2,340
Free testosterone₱9,700₱12,600
Estradiol₱2,070₱2,700
PSA₱1,570₱1,990
LH₱1,350₱1,760
FSH₱1,380₱1,800
Prolactin₱1,350₱1,760
Lipid profile₱1,260₱1,575
CBC (complete blood count)₱399₱495
Source: Medicard rate cardLast verified Jul 2026

What stands out:

  • Measured free testosterone is the big-ticket item. At ₱12,600 for non-members, it costs nearly as much as every other test on the panel combined.
  • The member discount is real. Across the panel, Medicard members pay noticeably less on every line.
  • CBC is the cheapest test on the list, at ₱495 non-member, and it is required before any treatment.

You probably do not need every test at once. A common sequence is:

  1. First visit: total testosterone (morning, fasting).
  2. If low: repeat total testosterone, plus LH, FSH, prolactin and SHBG.
  3. Before any treatment: CBC, PSA (in older men) and a lipid profile.
  4. Estradiol only when there is a reason, such as breast changes or significant excess weight.

Our testosterone test guide explains what each of these tests tells the doctor.

SHBG: price not yet confirmed

SHBG (sex hormone-binding globulin) is the test that makes calculated free testosterone possible. We have not yet confirmed SHBG prices at Philippine labs, including Hi-Precision and Healthway, and not every lab lists it on its standard menu. Call the lab for the SHBG price before you go. We will add verified SHBG prices to this page as soon as we have them.

The biggest saving: calculated free testosterone

This is the tip that saves the most money. Doctors want free testosterone when total testosterone is borderline or SHBG is likely to be abnormal, which is common in men who are overweight, diabetic or older.

You have two ways to get it:

OptionWhat you testCostAccuracy
Measured free testosteroneFree testosterone directly₱12,600 non-member, ₱9,700 member (Medicard)Depends on method; some direct immunoassays are unreliable
Calculated free testosteroneTotal testosterone + SHBG (+ albumin)Total testosterone price plus SHBG (call the lab)Tracks the reference method closely (Vermeulen, 1999)

Calculated free testosterone uses the Vermeulen formula. The Endocrine Society guideline accepts it, and many endocrinologists prefer it to direct measurement. Even before SHBG prices are confirmed, total testosterone plus SHBG is expected to cost a fraction of measured free testosterone. Once you have your results, our calculator does the maths:

Ask your doctor whether calculated free testosterone is acceptable for your situation before you choose. For most men it is.

Home service

Metro Manila traffic makes a fasting 7 am lab visit hard for a lot of people. Home service solves that: a phlebotomist comes to your home or office, draws the sample and takes it to the lab.

  • Hati Health books Hi-Precision tests with home service. The test price in the table above applies, and a home service fee is usually added. Check the fee when booking, as it can depend on your location.
  • Hi-Precision and some other labs also run their own home service in parts of Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

Home service is especially useful for BPO and night-shift workers, who should test soon after waking from their main sleep. Booking a draw at home, at your own "morning", is much easier than finding a lab open at the right time.

How to save on testosterone tests

1. Use your HMO with a doctor's request

This is the biggest saving for employed Filipinos. Many HMO cards (Maxicare, Intellicare, Medicard, PhilCare and others) cover hormone tests when an accredited doctor requests them to investigate symptoms. The steps:

  1. Book a consult with an accredited internist, endocrinologist or urologist.
  2. Explain your symptoms. The doctor writes the lab request.
  3. Get a letter of authorisation (LOA) from your HMO if your plan requires one.
  4. Have the tests done at an accredited lab.

Check limits before you go: some plans cap specialised tests, and pure "check-up" requests are less likely to be covered.

2. Use member rates

If you hold a Medicard card, the member column applies across the whole panel. Other labs and clinics sometimes offer corporate or loyalty rates too, so ask.

3. Calculate free testosterone instead of measuring it

As above, total testosterone plus SHBG run through the calculator is usually far cheaper than the measured test.

4. Do not test everything on day one

Start with total testosterone. Add the rest only if it comes back low or your doctor has a specific reason. That avoids paying for a full panel when the first result is normal.

5. Get the timing right the first time

A test taken in the afternoon, after breakfast, after a bad night's sleep or while you are sick may read falsely low and need repeating. Morning, fasting, well rested and well: that is the cheapest way to avoid a wasted test. Night-shift workers should test in their own morning, after their main sleep, and tell the doctor.

6. Use the same lab for repeats

Not cheaper on its own, but it avoids the confusion (and extra tests) that come from comparing results from labs with different ranges. See normal testosterone levels for why ranges differ.

What comes after the test

If your results are low twice, the next costs are a specialist consult and, if treatment is indicated, ongoing medication and monitoring labs. Our TRT cost breakdown covers those line by line, and low testosterone explains the treatment paths that come first, starting with the ones that cost nothing.

How we keep these prices current

Every peso figure on this page comes from a named source: the Medicard laboratory rate card (July 2026), the Hi-Precision listing on Hati Health and the Ashrey Makati listing, each checked on the date shown in the tables. We refresh prices quarterly and update the "Last verified" date on each table when we do. If you have paid a different price recently, tell us through our contact page and we will check it.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

How much is a testosterone test in the Philippines?

A single total testosterone test usually costs between the low and mid thousands of pesos, depending on the lab. Independent labs quote the lowest prices, and Medicard non-member rates are among the highest. The comparison table on this page shows current figures.

Why is the free testosterone test so expensive?

Measured free testosterone uses more specialised methods and is often sent out to a reference lab. A cheaper alternative is to test total testosterone plus SHBG and calculate free testosterone with the Vermeulen formula, which guidelines accept.

Does PhilHealth or my HMO cover testosterone tests?

HMO cards often cover testosterone and related hormone tests when an accredited doctor requests them to investigate symptoms. PhilHealth outpatient coverage for these tests is limited. Call your HMO with the doctor's request before paying.

How much does the full hormone panel cost?

A full first panel (total testosterone, LH, FSH, prolactin, estradiol, PSA, CBC and lipids) costs several times more than total testosterone alone. Adding measured free testosterone nearly doubles it again. Most men do not need every test on the first visit.

Is home service more expensive?

Usually slightly, because a home service fee is added to the lab price. For many men the time saved on Metro Manila traffic, and the ease of a fasting morning draw at home, is worth it.
