TRT in the Philippines for Expats and Retirees
TRT in Angeles City and Clark
TRT options in Angeles City and Clark for expats and locals: listed providers, patient-reported prices, labs nearby and notes for US veterans on the VA FMP.
Angeles City and the Clark Freeport Zone, in Pampanga, are home to the largest concentration of foreign residents in Central Luzon. Many are retired US servicemen, along with Australians, Europeans and Koreans. Plenty of them are on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) or have been told they should be. That demand means local doctors are more used to foreign patients arriving with treatment histories than in most Philippine cities.
This page lists the providers we know of, the prices patients have reported, and what US veterans should know about the VA Foreign Medical Program.

The two main local routes are a hospital-based physician in Angeles and a men's health clinic branch in Clark. Telehealth providers also serve Pampanga, with labs done locally; see where to get TRT in the Philippines for the national list.
Sacred Heart Medical Center: what one patient reported
One of the most widely read first-hand accounts of TRT in the Philippines comes from an expat in Angeles, posted on r/Philippines_Expats in March 2026. The post ranks on Google in both the Philippines and the US, which says a lot about how little reliable information exists.
According to that patient report:
- The patient saw a physician at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Angeles.
- The consult cost $25.
- Testosterone enanthate was dispensed on site, at $9.17 for each ampule.
- The hospital bills the US VA Foreign Medical Program directly for eligible veterans.
This is a patient report, not a verified price list. It comes from a single post on r/Philippines_Expats in March 2026. Prices, staff and billing arrangements change. Call the hospital to confirm before you go, and confirm VA billing with both the hospital and the VA.
For comparison, one licensed online pharmacy lists a single ampule of generic enanthate at about $2.78. Hospital-dispensed prices are usually higher because they include handling, storage and sometimes administration. Neither is right or wrong; what matters is that the product is registered and dispensed by a licensed outlet.
What a typical TRT pathway looks like here
Whether you are new to TRT or continuing it, expect roughly the same steps as anywhere in the Philippines:
- A consult with a licensed Philippine doctor, who takes your history and reviews any records you bring.
- Blood tests. New patients need two early-morning total testosterone tests on separate days, plus a basic panel. Patients already on treatment usually need a fresh baseline.
- A prescription for a registered form, filled by a licensed pharmacy or the hospital's dispensary.
- Follow-up labs to check testosterone, hematocrit and PSA, and often estradiol and lipids.
Testosterone is a prescription medicine in the Philippines, so a foreign prescription will not be filled here directly. If you are arriving already on treatment, read continuing TRT after moving to the Philippines before you come.
Forms available
The forms you are likely to be offered locally are generic testosterone enanthate (a shorter-acting injection given more often), testosterone undecanoate (Nebido), a long-acting injection given at clinic visits months apart, and testosterone gel (AndroGel).
Testosterone cypionate, the form most Americans are used to, has a registration that is not yet confirmed on the FDA Philippines verification portal, so do not count on finding it in Angeles. Most American patients here switch to enanthate, with their doctor managing the change.
Labs nearby
You do not need to travel to Manila for blood work. Hospital laboratories in Angeles run testosterone and the standard TRT panel, and national lab chains and diagnostic centres have branches in Angeles, Clark and the wider Pampanga area. Some offer home-service blood draws for an added fee.
For reference, a total testosterone test costs $39 at Medicard's walk-in rate. Other providers and the full panel are compared in our testosterone test price guide.
Two tips for accurate results:
- Book a morning draw, ideally before 10 am. Testosterone peaks in the morning.
- Use the same lab for follow-ups when you can, so results are directly comparable.
US veterans: the VA Foreign Medical Program
Angeles has one of the largest communities of US veterans in Asia, so the VA Foreign Medical Program (FMP) comes up often.
The key points:
- FMP only covers service-connected conditions, or conditions medically linked to one. If your low testosterone is not rated as service-connected, FMP will generally not pay for TRT.
- Register with FMP first and confirm your covered conditions before you start treatment.
- Direct billing is possible but not universal. Some providers bill FMP directly; otherwise you pay and claim reimbursement with itemised receipts and records in English.
- Sacred Heart Medical Center is reported to bill FMP directly. That comes from the patient report above, not from the VA. Confirm with both before relying on it.
Questions to ask before you start
Whichever provider you choose in Angeles or Clark, these questions help you judge the care on offer:
- Who is the doctor, and what is their PRC licence number? A legitimate provider will tell you without hesitation.
- Will you test me before prescribing, or review my existing labs and repeat a baseline?
- Which form will I be on, and where is it dispensed? You want a registered product from a licensed pharmacy or hospital dispensary.
- What does follow-up look like? Ask which labs are repeated, how often, and what each costs.
- What happens if my hematocrit or PSA rises? A careful doctor will describe a plan, including pausing treatment or referral.
- Can I have copies of my results and prescription? Useful if you travel, move or need to claim from the VA or an insurer.
- Do you bill the VA Foreign Medical Program directly? If you are an eligible veteran, ask this before your first visit, not after.
Costs at a glance
Budget for three things: consults, labs and medication. Consults and labs make up most of the yearly cost; the medication itself is relatively cheap. A local specialist consult typically runs $25 to $75, and the forms and their prices are broken down in how much TRT costs in the Philippines.

Angeles has no shortage of people offering testosterone "without the hassle": gym contacts, Facebook sellers and websites that use the word TRT but sell oral steroids and unregistered vials. These are not TRT providers. The products may be counterfeit, underdosed or contaminated, and FDA Philippines has warned the public about unregistered steroid products. Our page on TRT vs steroids explains how to tell the difference.
A legitimate provider always involves a named, licensed doctor, a blood test before treatment, and a registered product from a licensed pharmacy. If any of those is missing, walk away.
Living in Pampanga on TRT: practical notes
- Traffic between Angeles and Clark is lighter than Manila but still slow at rush hour. Morning lab appointments are easier if you book near home.
- Keep copies of everything. If you split time between Angeles and another city, or travel home, carry your Philippine prescription and recent labs.
- Plan refills ahead. Even in Angeles, a specific form can be out of stock for a while. Refill before you are low.
